Saya no uta(沙耶の唄）is a visual novel by nitro+, it is not a new visual novel(2003), people who read visual novels would probably know it and I hate myself for not trying it any earlier.
story synopsis:
Fuminori Sakisaka has a traffic accident which kills his parents and leaves him heavily injured. When he has a brain surgery to save his life, his perception of the world changes: everything he sees becomes blood and guts, people's looks and voices seem like monsters, and food that normally appeals to him tastes disgusting. As he contemplates suicide in the hospital, Fuminori meets a beautiful girl among the flesh-covered walls. She introduces herself as Saya, and is apparently looking for her father. Fuminori does not want to be separated from Saya, and asks her to live with him. She agrees. However, while to Fuminori, Saya appears as a normal girl when everything else in his point of view is flesh and guts, normal people see it differently — just as he sees normal things as flesh and blood, Fuminori sees actual flesh and blood as normal.Basically it means the main character screw around with a tentacle guts monster.
What attracted me to play this game were the comments from friends, "it is damn bloody", "I have got hemophobia for a month after playing it', "he eat human flesh!!", so I thought I will be playing an ultra-violent game, that's all. However after I start playing, it was not really that gross, at least I was fine eating my lunch and dinner when reading it.
After my second thought, not everyone might like it due to the darkness of the novel, people might be disgusted/displeased before they even like it. However I really cannot find anything to condemn on this game. Playing this game is almost like reading 九把刀's novel, the development makes you wanna to unveil more of the hidden secret of the story, and makes you wonder how it will end.
Points of attraction for this VN:
-psychologically screwed main character ftw (ffffuuuuuuu)
-guts can be seen in 60% of the game play time
-superb loli!!!
-nice graphic(even able to compete with some new VN)
-stories ended nicely(not many would agree though)
